A few minutes later, after a 54-yard drive, Windber scored their second touchdown. An outstanding feature in this game came when Barry Springer faded back to pass late in the first half. A Poem For The Ramblers

"Fudgy" grabbed the kickoff
His pass to "Chuck" was a pip,
But as he galloped down the field His pants began to rip.
Fagan ran to tell him,
  (as if he didn't know).
"Hunchy" burst out laughing
While "Hank" enjoyed the show.
Since Kanas was the captain
He called for a little time.
They all went in a huddle
With the pants not in their prime.
"Drummen" was warming up the bench
Sitting as if in a trance,
When Keller shouted to "Snuffy," "Quick, go change his pants."
Abado grabbed the first-aid kit,
Took out a roll of tape,
And patched the players ailing pants,
Till they were back in shape.
Schuylkill County derived its name from the Dutch, meaning "hidden stream."

Ramblers Win Over Trojans

Windber High Ramblers beat one of their big rivals of the year, the Johnstown Trojans, by edging them out by a score of 12-6. This game was said to be one of the toughest games that the squad would have to meet this year. Windber recovered a fumbled punt, and after eight plays Hudy scored from the nine yard line for the first touchdown. Then in the third quarter Bernie Grunza took Green's punt on the Johnstown 39, fumbled, picked up the ball and was snowed under on the Trojan 34. Twelve plays later Jim Drier went over from the two for the Trojans only touchdown; this made the score tie. Johnstown then kicked off, but the ball went out on the Ramblers' 30, then Windber took over on their own 40.
The long drive then started with Terry Fagan doing most of the running. He made 42 of the 60 yards needed for the touchdown with first downs being chalked up on the Trojans' 45, 30 and 16. Fagan made eight yards in each of two line plunges as he plowed over the goal line. Fagan's attempt for the extra point was stopped short.
With time running out Johnstown took to the air after Windber kicked off. Two passes were batted down and on the third Rainey couldn't find any receivers so he ran around the end and picked up six ,yards. A fourth pass was incomplete as Johnstown's hopes sank very low. The Ramblers, paced by Fagan, moved from their 43 to the Trojans 19 as the game ended.

"Nettie" Cunsolo, who is a junior in high school, recently spent two weeks in the Windber Hospital where she underwent a serious operation.
This is Nettie's first year as a cheerleader. She probably won't be able to cheer for the rest of the season.
